More precisely, the application of GB/T 36419 for beauty masks is not a mandatory certification in the sense of administrative licensing, but rather a third-party testing/quality inspection report issued in accordance with the recommended national standard GB/T 36419-2018 "Household and Similar Use Skin Beauty Devices"; This standard was released on June 7, 2018 and implemented on January 1, 2019. Currently, it is still being used in its current state. Its main target is household and similar skin beauty appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V, which can also be used as reference for appliances in beauty salons and similar scenarios; Examples include laser or strong light source appliances, red light and vibration beauty appliances.
2、 Is the beauty mask suitable for use
Red light, blue light, near-infrared, and LED photon masks can generally refer to GB/T 36419; But it is more like a framework of "performance/material/logo description" and cannot replace safety compliance alone. If equipped with functions such as microcurrent, radio frequency, ultrasound, heating and cooling, vibration, etc., special requirements should be added according to the output principle; If claimed to have therapeutic, restorative, and clinical efficacy, it may touch upon the path of medical devices rather than ordinary home appliance beauty devices.
3、 What are the supporting standards to consider
The safety subject is usually executed according to the household appliance safety series, and old projects are commonly combined with GB 4706.1, GB 4706.15, and GB 4706.85; The new project should pay attention to the implementation of GB/T 4706.118-2024 "Special Requirements for Skin Beauty Care Devices" and GB/T 4706.119-2024 "Special Requirements for Makeup and Beauty Care Devices Containing Laser or Intense Light Sources (ILS)" on August 1, 2026, and confirm the caliber according to the announcement and laboratory capabilities. Photobiological safety is often evaluated according to IEC 62471/GB/T 20145, with a focus on the grouping of retinal blue light hazards and risks.
4、 Core testing content
Overview level includes: signs and instructions, input power/current, temperature rise, leakage current, electrical strength, abnormal operation, and structural safety; The optical side includes wavelength/spectral distribution, irradiance or radiance, blue light and ultraviolet/near ultraviolet hazards, RG0-RG3 risk grouping, testing distance, and exposure time; The functional side includes timing, temperature control, output energy/current limitation, and irradiation instability; According to customer requirements, EMC, GB/T 26572 hazardous substances, material biocompatibility, etc. may be added.
5、 Report process and materials
The process usually involves confirming applicable standards, sending samples, checking contracts and scope of capabilities, testing, corrective retesting, and issuing CNAS/CMA reports. Prepare 2-3 samples of materials, including adapters, manuals, nameplates, and a list of key components BOM、 Light source specification sheet, circuit diagram/PCB, and explanation of different models. The instruction manual should avoid statements of "treatment, cure, medical grade", clearly state warnings against direct eye view, photosensitive individuals, skin damage, pregnancy, etc., and verify the consistency between key components of the sample and mass production.
